Pianist Charlotte Mueller has established a multi-faceted career that encompasses solo and chamber music performance of works ranging from the Baroque to the avant-garde. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Peabody Conservatory of Music, and the degrees Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Texas. A Rotary Foundation Scholar, she studied in The Netherlands receiving certificates from both the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Sweelinck Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam. Her piano professors include Walter Hautzig, Concert Pianist and Professor at Peabody Conservatory, and Danielle Martin, Gregory Allen, and David Renner of the University of Texas. In Europe she studied with Geoffrey Douglas Madge, Artist-in-Residence at the Royal Conservatory, and Jan Wijn, Chairman of the Piano Department at the Sweelinck Conservatory and juror of many international piano competitions.
Dr. Mueller's performing experience includes solo recitals in Amsterdam, The Hague, Cologne, and New York as well as in numerous cities throughout the midwest. She also appeared as soloist with orchestra on various occasions. In 1991 Dr. Mueller was invited to perform a lecture and recital under the sponsorship of the Gaudeamus Foundation of The Netherlands at De IJsbreker, an internationally known concert hall featuring contemporary music in Amsterdam.
Her CD entitled "Woman's Work" was published by MSR Classics. It is the recording of a live performance of music by women composers from the 19th and 20th centuries, performed at Agder Conservatory of Music in Kristiansand, Norway.
Dr. Mueller continues to teach on the collegiate level and privately. She is frequently engaged to adjudicate piano festivals in the Houston and surrounding areas.
Dr. Mueller is a certified member of the Texas Music Teachers Association and the National Music Teachers Association.
Dr. Mueller's Piano Studio is located in East Texas. Dr. Mueller teaches online and incorporates technology as well as traditional methods in her piano lessons.
